PGT - A

PGT - A

Embryos with the abnormal number of chromosomes (also called aneuploid embryos) typically do not result in a successful pregnancy or may lead to the birth of a genetically abnormal child.
Embryos with the correct number of chromosomes (also called euploid embryos or genetically normal embryos) have a better chance of leading to a successful pregnancy.

PGT-A, or preimplantation genetic testing for aneuploidies, is a genetic test performed on embryos produced through IVF. It helps in selecting the best and genetically normal embryo for transfer and improves the chances of achieving a successful pregnancy. After in vitro fertilization, a few cells from each embryo are sent to the genetics lab and chromosomes are counted. The embryos with a normal number of chromosomes are selected from the group for transfer.

All women are at risk of producing chromosomally abnormal embryos. As a woman ages, the potential for chromosomally abnormal embryos significantly increases. The only way to tell if an embryo is aneuploid is to test by PGT-A.

Dr. Aditi Tandon at her Fertility centre provides this technology for testing of embryos for aneuploidies ensuring her patients a chance of a successful pregnancy and a healthy baby. She has a vast experience with PGT - A to feel confident that this is a safe and highly accurate procedure and should be recommended to the couples that need it.
